Day 47
Laurie, thanks for getting that waist trimmer band, and sharing about it. I was so inspired that I immediately got online to find the most inexpensive one & GET ONE! I found one at Walmart for 5 bucks!! Yay! It was perfect because I was going there anyway after work to see if my keys ever turned up from Friday before I left town... they did! What a great day!!
So, you are right, Laurie... that waist trimmer band really works! I mean, since I only used it this morning for the first time, I don't know about actual results yet, but boy did my waist sweat! I didn't know it was really working until i took it off, and the mid section of my tank top was completely drenched. I love that! It also really does help me hold my tummy in & keep my core tight while exercising. That's a huge bonus! I can't wait to see what results I will have over the next few weeks with this thing on while doing my workouts. Good call, girl!
I am going to take my measurements again this evening, since I just stopped using that NuvaRing a few days ago, to see how much I gained from it. That way I can see what results I get from the next few weeks of exercising, compared to where I am now, after the ring, instead of where I was before the ring. Otherwise I may be really disappointed in myself, since it won't look like I lost as much as I actually did. I'll have to add the inch(es) lost before the ring to the inch(es) lost from now to the end, to see how much progess I actually made... and then imagine how much more I would've lost had I never used the ring. I'll bet that would be a lot!

Insanity
Day 45... still going...
I got this newsletter from Beach Body (who makes the Insanity program, along with many others). It talked about avoiding injuries. I just thought I'd share...

Also, I simply must put in, that had I not been going for alignments twice a week, every week, I would NOT have made it this far without injuring my back. I usually get about 2-3 days into a workout program, and injure either my back or my neck. Because I have been going to my alphabiotics badass, Dr. Gabriel Bardwell (214-280-2257), and keeping my body and mind balanced, this has not happened! Amazing! I have actually tried this Insanity program twice already, and both times I injured myself after about 3 days. I'm now on day 45 with no injuries!! I totally know that this all sounds like an advertisement, but I must say that I do believe this man has made SUCH a difference for me that I HAD to pass it on.
So... I removed the NuvaRing, and will be back on the pills next week. Hopefully I will begin to see more results, as far as the pudginess of my tummy melting away, now that I'm off that crazy weight-gaining thing. It sure was convenient, but I think I'll stick to taking a pill every day over gaining weight, thank you very much. I'll keep you posted, of course.

Day 37... Ouchy
I confirmed my suspicion yesterday about the NuvaRing. Apparently weight gain is one of the top reasons why women discontinue using it. It is in the top 5 side effects list. Boooooo. Well, I will have to either go back to the pill, or find another method. I have to keep the hormones though because without them, I am literally sick for a week every month. Anyway, this is probably TMI, but I think it's mainly girls and family reading this anyway. Besides, I feel like my being totally candid and frank would be appreciated... maybe? (giggle)
The muscles in my back are most sore today. Not like a back injury soreness, but like a WOW! I GOT A SERIOUS WORKOUT ON MY BACK/CORE MUSCLES!! kind of soreness. Feels great!! I've gotta say, I am a bit nervous about tomorrow's workout. They seem to get harder and harder so far this week. I am a badass however, so I most certainly will conquer this insanity.

Fit test Plus Max Interval Training
In the:
Hips I lost 1/2 an inch
Waist I lost an inch
Legs I gained a 1/2 inch
Chest I lost 1 1/2 inches
Arms I did not lose anything
This was surprising because it feels like my clothes are still tight! So this is really good news!
During the fit test
I did:
Switch kicks 105 last time to 110 this time
Power Jacks 50 to 53
Power Jumps 40 to 0 - my knee started hurting bad on this one so I skipped it
Globe Jumps I went from 10 to 13
Suicide Jumps from 15 to 11
Push up Jacks 8 to 26
Low Plank Oblique 41 to 55
This really kicked my butte! It was so hard core thought I was going to hurl by the end! And then to think we have another video to do today! Wow! I am gonna do it! I am inspired that I have lost so much so quickly - and it is even in the middle of my cycle so that means I am carrying water weight right now too! Woo hoo!

Oh my gosh! Last week I was thinking - I want to lose weight faster I need to work out more. Well, I guess I was just in the flow of this program. Just when I thought it couldn't be more challenging it is! Today just blew me away! As I build my strength this one is an amazing workout to get you in shape. I had to rest alot, but I think that the more I do it the more endurance I will have. I am thrilled that I did it all the way through. That in and of itself is an accomplishment!
Day 36... I think I really am insane now.

Boo! So, I lost a half an inch on my waist (looks to me like I gained half an inch though), and didn't lose diddly anywhere else. Lame, lame, lame. I blame it entirely on my new birth control (the ring). I think my hormones are making me gain weight... they are most definitely making my boobs WAY bigger anyway. Holy schnikeys! They can stop growing already, thank you very much! I'd hate to have to go back to the pills because the ring is just so damn convenient, but come on already! I'm not ok with this weight gain... particularly since I am seriously busting my ass to lose weight. Gimme a break!

Insanity
Yesterday was really intense - I ended up reinjuring my left knee with all of the jumping with one knee up. It hurt like hell! It was caused by a previous yoga injury doing triangle pose. Anyway thank goodness I have a knee brace. I iced it and exercised with it on today - it really made a difference. Not sure why I did not do this before! Anyway - it felt great to work out. I am feeling stronger and stronger each day. Kinda nervous about the fit test - lord knows what all we will end up doing. So I guess I am on the edge of my seat.
Anyway, it was fun today John exercised with me - it is always fun to do it with someone else - gives total momentum. Anyway - today was a breakthrough - I generally resist exercising on Saturdays - but I knew leading up to Monday being lazy is just not in the cards if I want to do well that day.
